The Output Options are grouped in the top right corner of the main MileCharter panel.
The first option (Output to) sets the destination format. This can be Excel or Text File. The Excel option will cause MileCharter to start Excel and to use it to create a workbook. It will also enable the Load/Run Excel Addins and macros check box. Use this check-box if you have add-ins and/or macros enabled in Excel. These will often cause problems with COM automation (i.e. MileCharter), so you may wish to disable them during MileCharter operation. The Text File option is described on the Writing to a Text File page.
If you select output to Excel, you can also tell Maptitude to hide Excel during processing by setting the Hide Excel during processing check box. Hiding Excel during processing can result in a small speed-up, but it is often useful to see Excel during processing for quality control purposes.
Usually, the start points are listed on the left side of the chart and the end points are listed along the top of the chart. These may be swapped by checking the Reverse Axes checkbox.
By default, the start and end points are written to the output in the order that Maptitude reports them to MileCharter. They can be sorted by checking the Sort Names checkbox. The sort is a 'natural' sort - i.e. an alphabetic sort that can also sort numeric strings (e.g. numeric identifiers) correctly.
MileCharter can also find the longitude, latitude coordinates of the source and destination locations. Check the Output Coordinates checkbox if you wish to have these coordinates saved to the spreadsheet table(s).
