MileCharter will display the Set Output Files button when the output is set to Text File (see Output Options). This button appears below the Output to option in the Output Options. Press the Set Output Files button to display the Output Text File dialog box:

Each output attribute (distance, time, cost) requires its own text file. MPMileCharter takes a user-supplied "file root" and adds a suffix for each of these attributes. The file root is listed in the top box, and can be changed by pressing the "..." button. This displays the standard Windows file output dialog box. Use it to select a new output file.

The Example file name box illustrates what the final distance output file will look like. In the above example, the file root has been specified as "C:\Users\richard\Documents\output.txt". MPMileCharter will add a suffix just before the file extension. The distance data will be written to a file called "C:\Users\richard\Documents\output_d.txt". The "_t" suffix is used for time data; and "_c" for costs.

The output files are standard text files with the same layout as the Excel worksheets. Commas are used as the default separator, but semi-colons or tab characters can also be chosen. These latter options are particularly useful if you are in a locale that uses the comma character as a decimal point.
