Wide Tables

Top  Previous  Next

Spreadsheets in Excel 2003 and earlier are limited to 256 columns and 65536 rows. These limits have been removed in Excel 2007. If you are using an older version of Excel, and MileCharter finds that it needs over 250 columns, it will display the following warning message:

wide_error

You can still produce tables with more 250 columns by selecting Yes to span multiple sheets. The chart will be split up into multiple sheets, each with 250 columns. The above example is for a chart with the destinations along the top. A similar warning message and the same option is available for charts with source locations along the top.

All MileCharter charts produced with Excel 2003 (and earlier) are limited to 65000 rows.

Note: These limits and the above warning do not appear for Excel 2007 (and later). For Excel 2007, MileCharter will produce tables with more than 250 columns without giving you the option to span multiple tables.
